Design Group has announced that they have been awarded a
contract for structural engineering services by defense
contractor Lockheed-Martin at their Manassas Virginia
site.
DRH Design Group is awarded a construction layout
services contract for the Assisted Living Facility at
Suffield Meadows in Fauquier County, VA.

contract by Harkins Builders of Forest Hill, Maryland
for construction stakeout services for the Suffield
Assisted Living Facility located at the age restricted
Suffield Meadows community in Fauquier County, VA.

David R. Hall, PE, SECB has been recertified as
Structural Engineer

that the Structural Engineering Certification Board
(SECB) has renewed certification for David R. Hall, PE,
SECB in the specialty practice of Structural
Engineering. The SECB is an independent accreditation
organization headquartered in Chicago, Illinois
representing the regulated professional practice
interests of over 30,000 structural engineers
nationwide. The mission of SECB is..."To
determine the level of unique and additional education,
examination, and experience necessary to perform the
science and art of Structural Engineering to provide a
common national process for structural engineers to
become certified. To provide the public and stakeholders
with an identification instrument that distinguishes an
engineer with those unique and additional qualities
necessary to perform structural engineering".

Engineering services.

Design Group has announced that Fauquier County has
awarded a one-year on-call contract with two additional
option years to the firm for providing the county with
Civil Engineering Services. This is the second contract
the firm has been awarded for providing professional
services to the County.
Small Business Certification
May 22, 2008:
DRH Design Group has received its Small Business
Certification from the Virginia Department of Minority
Enterprise (DMBE). Small Business certification is
available to businesses with 250 or fewer employees and
under 10 million in gross revenues.
Fauquier
County Open End Contract Extended
April 23, 2008:
DRH Design Group has been awarded a 3rd optional year on
its open-end contract with Fauquier County for
Architectural-Engineering Services.
David Hall named
lifetime member of the AWWA
April 1, 2007: David
Hall, the president of DRH Design Group has been elected
to Lifetime Membership status with the American Water
Works Association (AWWA) after 30 years of
membership in the
organization. Founded in 1881,
AWWA is the authoritative resource on safe
water, providing knowledge, information and
advocacy to improve the quality and supply of
water in North America and beyond. AWWA advances
public health, safety and welfare by uniting the
efforts of the full spectrum of the water
community.
DRH Design Group Announces Promotion
July 27, 2004: DRH Design Group, Inc. (formerly Frederick Ward Associates) announces
the promotion of John Orr to Vice President, Director of
Engineering. John Orr joined the firm in March 1998 as a
Senior Project Manager and will now manage the
engineering division of DRH. Mr. Orr received his
Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and has been a Licensed Professional Engineer
in Virginia since 1986. He currently resides in
Rixeyville, VA with his wife Lisa and three children.
Local engineering firm changes ownership
June 1, 2004:
David R. Hall, P.E., L.S., announced today that he has
assumed ownership of the Virginia branch office of the
engineering and surveying firm, Frederick Ward
Associates, located at 5 Rock Pointe Lane, Suite 200 in
Warrenton. He will re-name the firm DRH Design Group
and focus on civil engineering and surveying for land
development and on structural engineering for building
structures. “We have great clients, and I look forward
to continuing to work with them and growing our business
along with theirs,” said Hall. The firm originally
opened with offices in Manassas, VA and has been serving
the Northern Virginia and D.C. area since 1994.
